Mission Bound

Our Novices received their much anticipated news of where they will spend their Mission Experience!  As part of their continuing formation, senior novices are sent to one of the facilities served by the Congregation to continue the mission experience began during postulancy of caring for our Residents.

Sr. Mary Catherine Angeline looks forward to going to Marian Manor in South Boston, MA.

Sr. Luke Mary said that she is packed and ready for Carmel Manor in Fort Thomas, KY.

Sr. Hope Therese is happy to spend her mission experience in Carmel Richmond, Staten Island, NY.

And Sr. Maureen Paul was ecstatic to be going to a warmer climate in Lourdes Noreen McKeen Residence in West Palm Beach, FL! She misses her New Mexico climate.

We wish our dear Novices a blessed and happy Mission Experience. They leave Saint Teresa's Motherhouse on January 31, 2014!  In the words of our Foundress, Venerable Mary Angeline Teresa, "Sisters, are your shoes shined?"

So Long! We'll Be Back!

Our Novices are on their way to visit their families after having completed their first year of religious formation as Novices.  They have become Senior Novices and they wear the title with pride! (good pride that is)  They make their way by land and air to visit parents, brothers and sisters in Western New York, Colorado, New Mexico and Bronx, New York.  We wish them safe travels and trust that their guardian angels will bring them back!  Have a wonderful time, Sisters!

"OATIE VISITS AVILA"

On the Feast of Saint Francis, the Novices and Postulants, received a visit from Sr. Francis Patrick and her pet parrot Oatie.  He has a reputation of being a smart talking bird, throwing words like "God bless you!" when someone sneezes, or "Are you okay?" when Sr. Francis Patrick is not herself.  Whether this amazing skill is true or not, was put to the test, when Novices, Postulants and their Formators gathered during recreation to test the famous bird.  Did Oatie pass the test??

Sr. Rebeca & Sr. Hope were surprised when Sr. Helena
                                                     walked in with the camera

I AM "OATIE"

Waiting for the "Oatie moment" ........

Sr. Lois patiently gave the Carmelite pep-talk ........

Sr. Mary Catherine even tried a few tricks of her own .......

Sr. Patricia got up to bid goodnight (the final trick)

Someone sneezed .. "God bless you!" Oatie did it!!
