This Year of Faith and New Evangelization proclaimed by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI is an appropriate time to think of and talk about vocation to Religious Life. As the Universal Church enters further into the invitation of inner conversion by its members and of sharing the fruits derived from this experience to others, Religious Life is in the same way confronted by the invitation to self-examination, conversion and transformation, aimed at meeting the changing needs of the times. In 2009, the National Religious Vocation Conference (NRVC) sponsored an in depth study of the current state of Religious Life in the United States.
